Speaking at an iftar dinner with Turkish soldiers, President Erdoğan said: “Throughout our thousand-year history on these lands, we have repeatedly shown what kind of a nation we are when our homeland, flag, independence and sacred vales are threatened, when our independence and future encounter a danger.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech during an iftar dinner with Turkish soldiers in Ankara.
“One of the designations used most frequently to describe the Turkish nation is ‘soldier-nation’. Throughout our thousand-year history on these lands, we have repeatedly shown what kind of a nation we are when our homeland, flag, independence and sacred vales are threatened, when our independence and future encounter a danger. Throughout history, there have been those who have dared to set limits on our lifespan, those who have dubbed us ‘sick man,’ or those who have assumed they could uproot us from these lands. There have even been invaders who have attempted to silence our adhans and to lower our glorious flag, which receives its color from the blood of our martyrs. Yet, we have always frustrated their aspirations,” President Erdoğan said.
“I always say it; yet, I would like to take this occasion to re-emphasize that if we as a nation want to live in peace on these lands, our eternal homeland, we must continuously bolster our deterrence. In this difficult days our region is going through, we never leave the security of our borders and airspace to chance. As in the incident this morning, we are taking every kind of measures and carrying out the necessary interventions in close consultation with our NATO allies. We are also issuing our warnings in the clearest possible way to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents. Praise be to Allah, both our determination and our capacity to ensure the security of our country and nation are at the highest level. Despite all the obstacles, embargoes, sabotages and treasons, we have worked tirelessly over the past 23 years, have trusted ourselves and our nation, and have finally reached a level beyond imagination. We will inshallah reach much better levels. We will definitely build the Century of Türkiye,” President Erdoğan stressed.
