President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered remarks at a joint press conference with President Lee Jae Myung of the Republic of Korea at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.
President Erdoğan said: “We have thus far realized important projects in defense industry with our strategic partner South Korea. The Altay tank project is one of the most successful examples of this. As you know, the delivery of our national tanks to our military began last month. We aim to further diversify joint projects in this area. During our talks, we have discussed that we can take many steps in defense industry with South Korea in the upcoming period. In the meantime, talks regarding the construction of a nuclear power plant continue between our relevant institutions. I consider the memorandum of understanding that has just been signed between Korea Electric Power Corporation and Türkiye Nuclear Energy Company to be an important step.”
