President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Complex.

“EXERCISE EFES-2022 WAS SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTED”

Drawing attention to the Exercise EFES-2022 carried out in Izmir early June, President Erdoğan underscored that the exercise had been successfully conducted, and said: “We are world’s one of the leading countries that have the longest and the most effective experience in the fight against terror. Also, we are the country that shoulders the heaviest burden of the political and humanitarian crises caused by the conflicts that take place in the near environ of our homeland and by administrations whose ambitions are way beyond their capacities. As regards regional crises and combatting terrorism, we are successfully implementing our national security and defense concept based on eliminating the threats at their sources. Thanks to our cross-border operations, the support we provide to our friendly and brotherly countries and our principled stance, which we have built upon combatting terrorism and humanitarian sensitivity, on international platforms, we show our difference in every area.”

“Our operations aimed at permanently clearing our Iraqi border of terrorist attacks continue in a successful manner. Once we complete our preparations for addressing the deficiencies in the security corridor we have started to form in our Syrian border, we will launch new operations there as well,” the President noted.

“WE CONTINUE OUR ACTIVITIES ACROSS A VAST GEOGRAPHY IN ORDER TO DEFEND OUR COUNTRY’S RIGHTS”

“We never have and never will refrain from taking all the necessary steps to defend our rights in the Mediterranean and Aegean. We continue our activities across a vast geography in order both to defend our country’s rights and to support our friends and brothers. The Exercise EFES-2022 was finalized successfully as an example representing the military dimension of this picture,” the President said.

Underlining that modern wars in today’s world are fought not only on battlegrounds but also in many other areas including industry, technology, finance, arts and sports, President Erdoğan stated: “In this spirit, we inaugurated the Science and Technology Center at Boğaziçi University’s Kandilli Campus. I once again wish that the Deep Technology Base, which will take one step further our research and development capacity that we see as an important part of our national technology initiative, may yield auspicious outcomes for our country.”

Touching upon the latest meeting of the Turkish World Municipalities Union in Istanbul, President Erdoğan said: “At the General Assembly of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities on the same day, we were delighted to once again witness that the Union, which has now turned into a grand family with its 1.200 members, has built a bridge of brotherhood across a large geography extending from the Balkans to the Central Asia.”

“WE ARE APPROACHING STEP BY STEP THE BRIGHT FUTURE AWAITING OUR COUNTRY”

Drawing attention to Türkiye’s successful performance in exports, President Erdoğan stated: “We re-evaluated with the sector’s representatives the developments regarding Türkiye’s exports, one of the main pillars of our economic programme, during the meeting of the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly on June 13. The enthusiasm of our exporters has shown us that we are both advancing on the right path and that we are approaching step by step the bright future awaiting our country. I once again congratulate our business community which has achieved $243 billion in annual exports and pray for Allah to increase their efforts.”

Continuing his speech by highlighting Türkiye’s ongoing works related to energy, President Erdoğan noted: “On the same day, I attended the first pipe placement and welding ceremony in Filyos, one of the critical phases of the gas we have discovered in the Black Sea. We also look forward to seeing the entry into service of this most important initiative of Türkiye in the area of energy.”

“WE WILL DO WHATEVER IS NECESSARY IN LINE WITH OUR COUNTRY’S RIGHTS AND INTERESTS”

On the upcoming NATO Summit in Madrid, President Erdoğan said: “We will go to Spain for the NATO Summit tomorrow. We will do whatever is necessary in line with our country’s rights and interests. We will tell to our counterparts’ faces with documents, data and footages the hypocrisy displayed about terrorist organizations, particularly about the PKK, YPG and FETO. We will openly state that it is impossible to expect a different attitude from Türkiye unless this picture changes.”
