“THE GRAIN CORRIDOR REOPENS”
Touching upon his recent phone call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia, President Erdoğan said that he would hold a talk with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine as well, and added: “I will speak with Mr. Zelensky today. Türkiye is now a natural gas hub, an energy hub. The grain corridor already operates. Thanks be to Allah, we have improved this process with addition of fertilizers. Those, who just a few months ago were criticizing the balanced policy our country has been pursuing in the Russia-Ukraine crisis, now take us as an example all across the world. In the similar vein, the accuracy of our policy aimed at supporting production and employment by lowering interest rate is becoming more apparent each passing day. Many institutions and organizations, from the UN and international organizations to economists, approve the cause and effect relationship we have established between inflation and interest rates. You will see with the beginning of the new year that the world will start to lower the interest rates just as we do.”
Also sharing the good news that the grain corridor reopened, President Erdoğan said: “Following our phone call with Mr. Putin yesterday, Russian Minister of Defense Mr. Shoigu called Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar and told him that the grain shipment would continue as planned as of 12 p.m. today.”
