Addressing citizens in Trabzon, President Erdoğan said: “In the last 21 years, we have made public investments amounting to TL191 billion in current figures in Trabzon. In education, we built 3,084 new classrooms. We inaugurated Trabzon University, the second state university of our city. In youth and sports, we opened higher education dormitory buildings with a capacity of 9,610 people. We inaugurated 96 sports facilities, including a stadium with a capacity of 41 thousand spectators.”
President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed citizens at the party’s rally in Trabzon.
Highlighting the progress and the magnitude of investments they have achieved since they came to power 21 years ago, President Erdoğan said: “In the last 21 years, we have made public investments amounting to TL191 billion in current figures in Trabzon. In education, we built 3,084 new classrooms. We inaugurated Trabzon University, the second state university of our city. In youth and sports, we opened higher education dormitory buildings with a capacity of 9,610 people. We inaugurated 96 sports facilities, including a stadium with a capacity of 41 thousand spectators.”
Stating that they have built 58 health facilities in Trabzon, including 19 hospitals with 1543 beds, President Erdoğan noted that they will complete 6 health facilities as soon as possible, including the 900-bed Trabzon City Hospital, which are under construction.
Stating that they completed and handed over 8,102 houses to their rightful owners through the Housing Development Administration (TOKİ) and 2,012 houses were under construction, President Erdoğan said: “In urban transformation, we realized the transformation of 1467 independent sections that we identified as risky structures in our city. While there were 6 wastewater treatment plants in our city when we came to power, today we serve 91 percent of the municipal population with 16 plants. Among our 6 nation’s garden projects in Trabzon, we have completed the first phase of Akçaabat, Vakfıkebir and Avni Aker. The construction of Uzungöl and Çarşıbaşı and the project design of the second phase of Avni Aker are ongoing.”
“WE OPENED ZIGANA, THE LONGEST DOUBLE TUBE HIGHWAY TUNNEL IN EUROPE”
Noting that they increased the length of divided roads from 73 kilometers to 267 kilometers in transportation, President Erdoğan said: “We opened Zigana, the longest double tube highway tunnel in Europe with a length of 14.5 kilometers between Trabzon and Gümüşhane. May our Zigana Tunnel, which will shorten the existing road by 8 kilometers and shorten the travel time by 20 minutes on average, 70 minutes for heavy tonnage vehicles and 10 minutes for automobiles, be auspicious again.”
Stating that they will build a rail line that will connect Akçaabat, square area, Karadeniz Technical University, bus station, airport and Yomra to the city, President Erdoğan said: “Survey and project works are underway for the 235-kilometer-long Erzincan-Trabzon high-speed railway line, where freight and passenger transportation can be carried out together. We will soon put into your service investments worth TL20 billion that will increase the capacity and comfort of our airport. We repaired Trabzon port and built a marina.”
Pointing out that they have built a dam, 3 drinking water facilities, 121 flood protection facilities, a pond and 49 hydroelectric power plants in Trabzon, President Erdoğan said that in the past 21 years, they have protected 242 settlements and 10 thousand decares of land from flood risk with stream rehabilitation works in Trabzon and its districts.
