Delivering remarks at the opening ceremony, President Erdoğan said: “One of our main priorities is the development of the road, rail, and air transportation network in Konya, which lies at the intersection of east-west and north-south transportation routes. According to current figures, we have thus far invested TL 146.7 billion in the area of transportation in Konya. We have connected Konya to Ankara and Eskişehir in the north; to Isparta, Afyonkarahisar and thence to İzmir in the west; to Aksaray, Niğde and thence to Kayseri in the east; and to Antalya, Karaman and Mersin in the south with divided roads.”
