Speaking at a meeting with economists and academics, President Erdoğan said: “We have set in motion a historic transformation in our economic policy. In fact this transformation has not just begun, it has been continuing for a long time. Firstly, we have given up the traditional economic understanding’s approach of keeping the inflation under control through high interest. Instead, we have adopted an economic policy that is based on investment, employment, production, exportation and growth through current account surplus.”
