President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at an opening ceremony at Kyrgyzstan-Türkiye Manas University.
“The brotherhood between Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan, like a mighty plane tree with deep roots, grows stronger every year and branches out into different areas. We are taking decisive steps to carry this spirit of brotherhood and cooperation that we inherited from our ancestors into the future,” President Erdoğan said.
“WE PROVIDE DIRECT SUPPORT TO MORE THAN 13 THOUSAND STUDENTS”
“Our education projects are undoubtedly the most important assurance of the permanence of our cooperation. As Türkiye, we continue our efforts in the sphere of education in order to support Kyrgyz youth to build a brighter future. Within this framework, we opened our joint school Turkish Kyrgyz Anatolian High School and Anatolian Vocational High School for Girls within the scope of the Education Agreement we signed in 1992 right after the independence of Kyrgyzstan. In 1995, we laid the foundations of our Manas University. In 2022, we once again confirmed our support for education in Kyrgyzstan with the opening of our Türkiye Maarif Foundation’s school. At this stage, we have 400 students in our joint high schools, 1200 students in our Bishkek Turkish school, and 3,100 students in our TÖMER Turkish courses. Although it was opened recently, we have reached 1500 students in our Türkiye Maarif school. Approximately 7 thousand young brothers and sisters are studying at Manas University. In other words, we provide direct support to more than 13 thousand students at different levels,” President Erdoğan said.
Emphasizing that they have offered thousands of Kyrgyz students the opportunity to study in Türkiye through Türkiye Scholarships, President Erdoğan said: “With all these efforts, we have contributed significantly to the strengthening of the human, academic and cultural capital of our Kyrgyz brothers and sisters. We all know very well that the investments we make in people never have and never will be in vain.”
“MANAS UNIVERSITY WILL GUIDE THE RISE OF KYRGYZSTAN”
“The primary issue is to invest in the greatest legacy, the human being, the individual, the youth, the child. The primary goal is to raise the scientists, academics, engineers, bureaucrats, politicians, culture and art people of the future. What truly matters is to raise prominent names like Chinghiz Aitmatov, one of the august pillars of Turkish literature. All our educational institutions, especially Manas University, will be instrumental in raising young people with a mission and vision, who think, research, follow scientific developments, and to whom we can entrust our future with peace of mind. We all know very well that an economic policy, industrialization program, foreign policy and cultural policy that is not backed by universities is incomplete. I believe that our university will guide the rise of Kyrgyzstan in this respect,” President Erdoğan said.
Stating that Manas University, with its 11 faculties, a high school, a vocational school and a postgraduate institute, is fulfilling its founding mission, President Erdoğan said: “I was pleased to learn that Manas University has been ranked among the top 1000 higher education institutions in the world for 2 years in a row. This success is a source of pride not only for Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye, but also for the entire Turkic world. I wholeheartedly congratulate all our professors and students, everyone who contributed to this success.”

President Erdoğan also inaugurated the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship State Hospital built by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in Bishkek.
