Volleyball Head Coach Nedim Özbey, who fell ill in Spain, will be transported to Turkey by an ambulance airplane upon President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's instructions.
Turkey national men’s volleyball team and Galatasaray men’s volleyball team head coach Nedim Özbey, who was hospitalised after falling ill in Las Palmas, Spain, where he was for the matches as part of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) Cup, will be transported to Turkey today by an ambulance airplane which belongs to Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health, upon President Erdoğan’sinstructions.
The ambulance airplane is expected to depart from Las Palmas, located in the Canary Islands of Spain, today at 18:00 (UTC+3) and land in Istanbul around 10:00 pm.
Nedim Özbey was hospitalised in Las Palmas, Spain, due to an illness he had on the evening of December 16th. Because of the risks of using a commercial airline in 65-year-old NedimÖzbey’s health condition, President Erdoğan, who had been following Nedim Özbey’s health status closely, gave instructions for his transportation to Turkey by an ambulance airplane which belongs to the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health. Nedim Özbey’s treatment will continue in Turkey.
