President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a message on August 30 Victory Day.
“Türkiye stands out with its principled and steadfast policies centered on humanitarian values”
“Today, we are proudly commemorating the 104th anniversary of the Great Victory, which went down in history as the “Field Battle of the Commander-in-Chief” and constitutes the most important phase of the National Struggle.
I congratulate our august nation, the Turkish Cypriot people, and our citizens living in different parts of the world on August 30 Victory Day.
I extend my most sincere gratitude to our esteemed guests sharing our Victory Day joy and excitement at our foreign missions.
The August 30 Victory once again acknowledged that the lands on which we have lived freely for a thousand years are our eternal homeland.
The Great Victory, which paved the way for the establishment of the Republic, declared to the whole world that our nation would never accept slavery, while also leading to the rupture of the imperialist encirclement of our region.
The determination, courage and perseverance we displayed as the nation 104 years ago serve today as our strongest source of motivation.
With the inspiration and self-confidence it draws from its history, Türkiye is firmly advancing towards its goals with the success stories it writes in every area from energy to defense industry, science and technology to foreign policy.
At a time when wars, conflicts, crises and political uncertainties are on the rise across the world, particularly in our region, Türkiye stands out with its principled and steadfast policies centered on humanitarian values.
“We will continue to stand for justice, peace and stability despite all the provocations”
I am pleased to note that today there is a Türkiye which works to prevent oppression regardless of whom it comes from, stands with the oppressed regardless of who they are, and does not refrain from paying a price for it when need be.
No one will ever be able to deter Türkiye and the Turkish nation from their blessed struggle ‘so long as the blue sky above remains unfallen and the dark earth below remains unbroken.’
As the state and the nation, we will continue to stand for justice, peace and stability despite all the provocations and incitements of those feeding on instability.
I offer my gratitude to all our citizens, who give shoulder to building the Century of Türkiye in unity and solidarity, just like in the past.
On this meaningful day, I am embracing with affection all our friends and brothers across our cultural and kindred geography whose hearts beat with us and who share our joy and sorrow.
On this occasion, I remember with gratitude Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Commander-in-Chief of the Great Victory, and his comrades-in-arms, pray for Allah the Almighty’s mercy upon our martyrs, whom we view as the immortal guardians of our future, and remember our ghazis with respect.
Happy Victory Day!”
