Speaking at the financial session of DEİK’s 38th General Assembly, President Erdoğan said: “Türkiye is becoming a sought-after actor of peace negotiation tables. Today, Türkiye trusts in itself, believes in itself, and self-confidently advances with concrete steps towards its goals.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the financial session of the 38th General Assembly of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) in Istanbul.
“Turkish business world is capable if adapting new situations”
Stating that they are well aware of the business world’s concerns caused by the regional conflicts and ongoing ambiguities in the global economy, President Erdoğan said: “We also clearly analyze the geopolitical risks that have begun with the genocide in Gaza, and have increased with Israel’s attacks on Lebanon, Yemen, Iran and Syria. It is obvious that especially our business world tries to move forward on a heavy sea. And yet, the Turkish business world is one of the leading segments that have the highest capability of adapting new situations.”
“We neither remain silent to oppressions nor pursue any adventure”
Underscoring that they neither remain silent to oppressions nor pursue any adventure, President Erdoğan noted that they determinedly implement what is the rightest for Türkiye, for the entire 86 million and for those who rely on Türkiye, and added: “We have done it in Syria for 14 years. We have done it in the Russia-Ukraine war since day one. We have done it in Israel’s attacks on Iran, Yemen and Lebanon. We have done it by ending trade relations with Israel as a reaction to the Gaza genocide. We have also done it when improving our relations with the brotherly countries in the Gulf. We have done it wherever they need us, from Libya to Karabakh.”
Stressing that even rival countries praise Türkiye’s balanced, conscientious, principled and sagacious stance, President Erdoğan went on to say: “Türkiye is becoming a sought-after actor of peace negotiation tables. Today, Türkiye trusts in itself, believes in itself, and self-confidently advances with concrete steps towards its goals. We will come to much better places. We will achieve much more together with you. We will continue our path by constantly increasing the scale.”
“Turkish politics has successfully crossed yet another psychological threshold”
Also drawing attention to the domestic politics, President Erdoğan stated that they have moved to a new phase in the terror-free Türkiye process, and continued as follows: “Our calls to increase political support for and participation in the process have been responded positively and a committee has been formed in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. Thus, the Turkish politics has successfully crossed yet another psychological threshold. It has overcome yet another prejudice. It has taken yet another precious step on the path to solving its matters by talking on democratic platforms.”
Further noting that it is a requirement of being a state that Türkiye determinedly takes the steps aimed at foiling the new games played in the region, President Erdoğan added that Türkiye can get out of the circle of fire surrounding itself only by trusting one another and displaying a strong will through a strategic approach.
“There is no place for terror in the future of our region”
Pointing out that they are now going through a historic process that will change the places winners and losers, President Erdoğan said: “To that end, all the institutions of our state work in harmony. And we vigilantly, attentively and carefully manage all these works in a well-intentioned manner by erring on the side of caution against sabotages and provocations. In the similar vein, the political institution, despite a few cracked voices and opportunists, generally takes a positive approach towards the process. It is becoming more obvious each passing day that no progress can be made through terror, and that there is no place for terror in any form in the future of our region. We want to open the doors of a new era in our country and the region by making most of these advantages.”
