Türkiye expresses condolences to Iran

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan extended his condolences on social media over the tragic passing of President Ebrahim Reisi of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and their accompanying delegation in a helicopter crash.

 

In his post, President Erdoğan said, ''I wish Allah's mercy upon my esteemed counterpart and brother, President Ebrahim Raisi of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash.''

 

President Erdoğan wished Allah's mercy upon the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran and others who died in the same helicopter as the late Raisi and continued:

 

"I extend my deepest condolences to the friendly and brotherly Iranian people and government, in particular to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Khamenei and the families of President Raisi and the other victims. As a counterpart, who personally witnessed his efforts for the peace of the Iranian people and our region during his time in office, I remember President Raisi with respect and gratitude. As we have repeatedly done in the past, Türkiye will once again stand with its neighbour Iran during these tragic and difficult times.''

 

Head of Communications Altun extends condolences

 

The Presidency's Head of Communications, Fahrettin Altun extended his condolences on his social media account over the passing of President Raisi of Iran and his accompanying delegation. 

 

Head of Communications Altun stated the following in his post:

 

"I wish Allah's mercy upon President Ebrahim Raisi of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and all those who lost their lives in the tragic helicopter crash.

 

I extend my condolences to the friendly and brotherly people of Iran and the families of the deceased."
