As part of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Cooperation Protocol in the Fields of Media and Communication between the governments of Türkiye and the UAE was signed.
The protocol signed by the Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun on behalf of Türkiye and Head of the UAE Government Media Office Saeed Al Eter on behalf of the UAE seeks to improve friendly relations between the two countries and strengthen ties in the fields of media and communication.
According to the Protocol, the two countries will promote annual exchanges of representatives from the media and communication industries to gain a better understanding of each other's current economic, political, cultural, and social lives and exchange perspectives on communication activities.
Joint events will be organised to bring together members of the media and opinion leaders from Türkiye and the UAE on a regular basis.
Additionally, efforts will be made to create mutual internship and training opportunities for young journalists, media members and technical staff of the two countries. Necessary assistance and convenience will also be extended to the media members of the other country who conduct professional activities in the parties' countries.
The protocol will take effect once both countries have completed all necessary domestic legal procedures.
In a post shared on his social media account regarding the protocol, Altun said, "Today, we signed a cooperation protocol between the Republic of Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates in the fields of media and communication. With this important protocol, the two countries will join forces in the fields of media and communication. May it bring good fortune."
