Türkiye and Serbia to cooperate in field of media and information

Presidency's Head of Communications Fahrettin Altun shared a post on social media stating that Türkiye and Serbia signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Media and Information.

Head of Communications Altun stated the following in his post:

"Today, in the presence of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia, we signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Media and Information with the Minister of Information and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia Dejan Ristić. I wish for this memorandum of understanding, aimed at further enhancing the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of media between our countries, to be auspicious.”

During the ceremony, which took place on the occasion of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Serbia, Head of Communications Altun and Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristic of Serbia signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of "media and information."

The "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Media and Information," signed between Türkiye and Serbia, aims to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries and enhance the exchange of information. Accordingly, the two countries will work to strengthen, promote, and develop cooperation and information sharing in the audiovisual sectors, focusing on the broadcasting of programmes, co-production, and interpersonal exchanges based on reciprocity and mutual benefit, subject to the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding and the laws, rules, regulations, and national policies in effect in their respective countries.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Belgrade, where the 4th meeting of the Türkiye-Serbia High-Level Cooperation Council (HLCC) was held, cooperation will be encouraged and developed to enhance the exchange of information and to create media content in political, economic, commercial, cultural, and other fields, as well as in significant events in both countries.

With the Memorandum of Understanding, the two countries will send delegations to exchange their experiences. Additionally, the two countries will collaborate to participate in international and regional events organised in Türkiye and Serbia in the field of media.

The Memorandum of Understanding, which will enter into effect as of today, will remain in force for three years.
