During the ceremony held as part of the visit of President Paul Kagame of Rwanda to our country at the invitation of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Presidency's Head of Communications Fahrettin Altun and the Minister of State of Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Cooperation, Retired General James Kabarere, signed the "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Fields of Media and Communication between the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the Government of the Republic of Rwanda."
"The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Fields of Media and Communication," signed between the Presidency's Directorate of Communications and the Office of the Government Spokesperson of Rwanda, seeks to further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries and enhance close cooperation in the fields of media and communication. Accordingly, the two countries will endeavour to strengthen, promote, and develop cooperation in the fields of media and communication based on reciprocity and mutual benefit, subject to the provisions of the memorandum of understanding and the laws, rules, regulations, and national policies in force in their respective countries.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Ankara by Head of Communications Fahrettin Altun and Rwanda's Minister of State of Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Cooperation, Retired General James Kabarere, cooperation in the fields of "communication tools" and "media" will be encouraged and developed.
The Memorandum of Understanding aims to facilitate the exchange of information and experience in the fields of communication and media between the two countries, foster cooperation on projects and initiatives that are of mutual interest and benefit, and organise conferences, trainings, and workshops. It is also envisaged to promote the exchange of visits between officials and experts in the fields of media and communication.
The Memorandum of Understanding, which will enter into effect as of today, will remain in force for three years.
