Türkiye and Italy sign 11 agreements

The Fourth Türkiye-Italy Intergovernmental Summit, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of Italy, concluded with the signing of agreements between the two countries.

Türkiye and Italy reached agreements on trade, industrial investments, space, culture, sports, social services, archives, transportation, and the defence industry.

The Joint Ministerial Statement on the Development of Bilateral Trade Relations between the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Italy was signed by Ömer Bolat, Minister of Trade and Edmondo Cirelli, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy .

The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Fields of Science, Technology, Innovation, Industry and Investment between the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy of the Republic of Italy was signed by Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Industry and Technology, and Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy.

Ministers Kacır and Urso signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Space Activities for Peaceful Purposes between the Turkish Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency.

Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, and Minister of Culture of Italy Alessandro Giuli signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Combating Illicit Trafficking of Cultural Property between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Culture of Italy.

The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between Museums and Promotion of Archaeological Heritage between the Directorate General of Cultural Heritage and Museums of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye and the Department for the Development of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Italy was also inked by Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism and Giuli, Minister of Culture of Italy.

The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Directorate of State Archives of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and the Directorate General of Archives of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Italy was signed by Muhammet Ahmet Tokdemir, Director of the State Archives of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, and Giuli, Minister of Culture of Italy.

The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Youth and Sports between the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye and the Department for Youth Policies and the Universal Civic Service of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Italy was signed by Osman Aşkın Bak, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Andrea Abodi, Minister for Sport and Youth of Italy.

The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Social Services between the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye and the Minister for Disabilities of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Italy was signed by Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, Minister of Family and Social Services and Alessandra Locatelli, Minister for Disabilities of Italy.

The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Operation of International Transport Corridors between the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Italy was signed by Mustafa Tuzcu, Deputy Minister of Trade, and Edoardo Rixi, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport of Italy.

The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Social Services between the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies of the Republic of Italy was signed by Göktaş, Minister of Family and Social Services and Giorgio Marrapodi, Ambassador of Italy to Ankara.

The preliminary protocol between Baykar, Türkiye's leading manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles, and Leonardo, an Italian aerospace and defence industry company that is one of the largest defence companies in Europe, was signed by Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Baykar, and Roberto Cingolani, CEO of Leonardo.
