The "Türkiye-Africa Media Summit", organised by the Directorate of Communications, has kicked off in Istanbul.
Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun delivered the opening speech at the two-day Summit in Istanbul, Bakırköy.
Aiming to enhance collaboration and coordination between Turkish and African media members, enable the exchange of experiences, and foster a partnership perspective, the Summit will be attended by 80 media members from 45 African countries, as well as African diplomats, executives of public institutions, media representatives, academics, representatives of private sectors and non-governmental organisations.
The event will feature discussions by Turkish and African journalists about the African perspective on global media as well as the international order.
The Summit will conclude with special sessions following the presentations of representatives of Turkish companies operating in Africa as well as institutions and organisations that contribute to the continent's human capital.
The event is anticipated to promote awareness of Türkiye in the African media and strengthen Türkiye's engagement with African countries in the field of media and communication.
