Turkic World meets in Istanbul to strengthen communication

The fourth Meeting of the Ministers and High Officials in Charge of Media and Information of the Organization of Turkic States (OTC) will be held in Istanbul tomorrow and hosted by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications.

The ninth meeting of the Working Group on Cooperation in the Fields of Media and Information will be held today as part of the programme aimed at improving the cooperation of Turkic states in the field of media and communication.

The Fourth Meeting of the Ministers and High Officials in Charge of Media and Information of the Organization of Turkic States will be held tomorrow.

Ministers, directors and senior officials from the member states of the Organization of Turkic States Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, as well as Hungary and Turkmenistan that have observer member status will come together and discuss collaborations and projects in the field of media and communication and issues related to the improvement of cooperation in this context. 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will address the participants via video message during the meeting, and The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreyev, Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan İlham Aliyev and Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev will also attend the meeting.

Minister of Information and Social Development of Kazakhstan Askar Umarov, Minister of State for Security Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Sztaray, Director of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan Asadjon Khodjayev, Director of the Information and Mass Communication Department of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Salkyn Sarnogoyeva, and Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Ankara Ishankuli Amanlyev will also attend the meeting.

As part of the programme, panels titled "The Rising Power of Public Diplomacy in the Turkic World: Series-Film Sector", "The Digital Future of the Turkic World: Metaverse", "The Possibilities for Cooperation in Public Broadcasting in Light of the Turkic World's Common Future Vision", and "Combating Disinformation in the Post-Truth Era" will be held.

In addition to official delegations, managers of media and communication institutions, experts, artists, social media influencers, academics and communication students from the faculties of communication from the Turkic world will attend the programme. 

In the booth and foyer area equipped with digital technologies, the participants will be able to get information about the activities of the media and communication institutions of the member countries and countries with observer status.

The Directorate of Communications will host a social programme for all participants on the final day of the event.
