Türkevi welcomes world leaders during UN week

During the week of the 77th Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, Türkevi (Turkish House), an attraction centre in New York since its inauguration last year, has been hosting world leaders.

This year during the summit, where the leaders gathered face-to-face for the first time since the pandemic, Türkevi, which is located directly across from the UN headquarters, is enjoying vibrant moments and diplomatic traffic.

Türkevi, whose doors have been open not just to Turks but also to foreigners since its inauguration and which attracts attention with the social and cultural events it hosts, has earned a name for itself with the diplomacy conducted during this year's summit.

During the week of the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly, intense diplomacy is pursued at Türkevi through meetings with world leaders from Asia to Europe, the Middle East to the Americas.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with several leaders and delegations at Türkevi, which was visited by numerous heads of state and government and delegations in the previous year.

On the first day of his talks on the margins of the UN General Assembly, President Erdoğan met with various world leaders, including Chancellor Scholz of Germany, King Abdullah II of Jordan, Prime Minister Yair Lapid of Israel, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan, and President Emmanuel Macron of France.

Prior to the General Assembly session, President Erdoğan also met with Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili of Georgia and Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi at Türkevi.
