The debut of TRT's international digital platform "Tabii" was held at Beykoz Kundura Factory.
Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun, TRT Director General Zahid Sobacı, Anadolu Agency (AA) Director General Serdar Karagöz, and AA Deputy Director General Yusuf Özhan, as well as numerous figures from art, cinema, politics, sports, business, and advertising, attended the event.
Speaking at the event where the name and logo of TRT's international digital platform "Tabii" were debuted, TRT Director General Sobacı began his remarks by wishing Allah's mercy upon those who perished in the earthquakes that struck Kahramanmaraş on February 6, conveying his condolences to their families, and wishing recovery for the injured.
Sobacı stated that as TRT, they have been working diligently for the international digital platform for a long time and said, "The digital platform that we have created with the motto that a fairer world is possible in the digital realm is taking the first step of its global journey to become a new brand of our country in the international arena today."
"Tabii will be launched on May 7"
Drawing attention to the fact that TRT serves as an archive of Türkiye's auditory and visual memory, Sobacı noted:
"Today, our voice echoes in 41 languages and dialects on 7 continents of the world, through 18 television channels, 17 radio channels, 7 international digital news platforms, numerous applications, and dozens of events at the national and international level. TRT has reached this point through transformation, development, and expansion. It has always adopted the basic principle of acting in accordance with the needs of the time and emerging potential. The world is currently undergoing a serious digital transformation. The field of broadcasting and production is at the heart of this transformation. Institutions and countries adapting to this transformation by preserving their values, principles, and raison d'être survive, while others remain spectators. Given that the global market for digital broadcasting has reached $500 billion in 2022 and is expanding at an average rate of 20 per cent annually, we can see that seizing the transformation in this market presents numerous opportunities.
Sobacı also pointed out that the use of digital platforms in Türkiye has increased by 347 per cent in recent years, adding:
"We will be the main outlet for family-friendly content worldwide. In addition to our movies and TV series, it will serve as the new digital home of our families, who have put their faith in us with brand-new animation content for our children, whose minds and hearts we view as entrusted to us. Within the framework of this vision, I'd like to state that TRT's international digital platform is a pure, natural, and new source that has opened up against those who want to make the entire world watch the same content. As we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we are making a global broadcasting challenge as TRT of Türkiye, which has a say in its region and the world, spoils the games with its technology and rises with its own values, and this challenge is based on real and significant data. People will be able to access Türkiye's TRT and its productions whenever and wherever they want, first in our country and region, then globally, thanks to our digital platform. The production sector of our country will be revived with an innovative perspective and new stories and projects. From the promotion of our beautiful homeland to tourism, from the economy to the sharing of cultural wealth, our platform will make significant contributions. TRT's international digital platform will initially consist of content in Turkish, English, Spanish, Urdu, and Arabic. With 30 new productions and 184 episodes, it will be the platform with the most original content at launch. In addition to our good projects, our platform, which will host TRT's popular productions, will be introduced to our audience on May 7 in our country.
Sobacı also shared the good news that TRT's international digital platform "Tabii" will be available at "www.tabii.com" and initially be free to users in Türkiye.
Many types of content, ranging from action to comedy, historical drama to animation, will be available to the audience on the international digital platform, which is ready to provide enthusiasts with original content.
