With the participation of President Erdoğan, the 567th anniversary of the Conquest of Istanbul will be celebrated through special programs.
The joy of conquest will be experienced with several events from the reciting the Surah al-Fath in Hagia Sophia to the Conquest Respect Parade that the boats will perform in the Bosphorus, from the Conquest Special Concert to the Archery Cup of Turkey’s Archers Foundation (Okçular Vakfı).
The details of the Conquest Program announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan with the remarks, "We will witness very pleasant programs together with our nation" on the 567th anniversary of the Conquest of Istanbul.
Firstly, Turkish Sailing Federation under the Ministry of Youth and Sports will perform "May 29 Bosphorus Conquest Respect Parade Event". At the event held at 11:30, Turkish-flagged boats will greet President Erdoğan as they pass by the Huber Villa.
At 18:00, the Quran recitation, sword shield demonstration and mehteran concert will be held in front of Topkapı Palace by the Governorship of Istanbul.
Conquest Special Concert
At 19:00, Esat Kabaklı, Mustafa Yıldızdoğan and İbrahim Sadri will take the stage with their pieces to cherish the joy of conquest, and this "Conquest of Istanbul Special Concert Program" will be broadcast on YouTube channels and social media accounts of the Presidency and Directorate of Communications.
Conquest Cup
The Conquest Cup event of the Archers Foundation will also be held at 19:00. In the event to start with the Qur’an Recitation and Conquest Prayer, the video of the winner of the "Conquest of Istanbul" themed poetry reading competition organized throughout Turkey will be displayed as well as the Traditional Turkish Archery Puta, Classic Bow and Roller Bow finals award ceremony. President Erdoğan will address the event via a video conference at 20:53. There will also be the mehteran band, light show and firework display in the event.
Surah al-Fath in Hagia Sophia
The joy of conquest will continue in Hagia Sophia with the Conquest Feast organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism at 21:30.
The program will start with the images taken by drone of the routes that Fatih Sultan Mehmet passed through and arrived at Hagia Sophia by carrying the ships on the land while conquering Istanbul.
In the program that will follow by the recitation of Surah al-Fath in Hagia Sophia, the Conquest Prayer will also be made.
In the program where President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will attend by video conference, a mapping show with the theme of conquest of Istanbul will be performed on a platform set up in front of Hagia Sophia.
The Conquest Feast will end with a firework display from the Historic Peninsula.
