Holding a press conference following the G20 Osaka Summit, President Erdoğan said: “As Turkey, we want the G20 to become a more effective, more result-oriented and stronger platform in terms of resolving global issues. In order to achieve this, the members should fulfill their commitments and display a fair stance.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a press conference following the G20 Osaka Summit in Japan.
“G20 members should display a principled and resolute stance on combating terrorism. It is wrong to sort out terrorist organizations according to their ideologies and treat them differently. It is the entire mankind that will pay the price for this mistake. As a matter of fact, many countries have faced and continue to face the bloody face of terror in the recent period,” President Erdoğan stated.
“Terrorism is the enemy of all mankind and humane values”
Describing terror as the enemy of all mankind and humane values, President Erdoğan said: “Therefore, we must exhibit the virtue of ‘calling terror terror’ regardless of their identities. Unfortunately, there are significant problems and contradictions in this respect especially in the context of Syria. Terrorist organizations such as the PYD/PKK that commit ethnic cleansing, forcefully recruit children and push people to migration are being highly cherished, so-to-speak, by some countries.”
Stressing that the formations which atrociously murdered 251 people during the July 15, 2016 coup attempt are being harbored by some western countries, President Erdoğan said: “Providing protection and refuge, under the guise of political asylum, to putschists that targeted our democracy will cost the entire humanity dearly.”
Underlining that it is inconceivable for countries that represent more than 80% of the global economy to remain indifferent to issues like terror, hunger and refugees which impact everyone’s future, President Erdoğan stated: “As Turkey, we want the G20 to become a more effective, more result-oriented and stronger platform in terms of resolving global issues.
