Speaking at the launch of the Cemre Foundation, President Erdoğan said: “At the moment, the entire world is faced with serious challenges regarding the issue of environment and climate. Industrial waste, sprays, smokes, oil and drug waste, plastic products, new fertilizers, garbage, and chemical waste are rapidly polluting our environment. Air, water and soil are being affected by this rapid and alarming pollution.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the launch of the Cemre Foundation in Istanbul.
Stressing that the entire world is faced with serious challenges regarding the issue of environment and climate, President Erdoğan said: “Industrial waste, sprays, smokes, oil and drug waste, plastic products, new fertilizers, garbage, and chemical waste are rapidly polluting our environment. Air, water and soil are being affected by this rapid and alarming pollution.”
Noting that a plastic bottle irresponsibly dropped in the nature would continue to pollute the environment for nearly four centuries, President Erdoğan stated: “Floods, hurricanes and unexpected weather events caused by air pollution, climate crisis and the disturbed balance of the nature negatively affect all the living beings along with humans. We have reached such a point where it is neither possible nor correct to ignore the climate and environment crisis, no matter in which part of the world we live. We are going through a period when we must step up our environmental efforts and mobilize higher numbers of people, particularly the youth. It is exactly at this moment that the Cemre Foundation is brought into existence as an environmental movement by the youth to fill in the gap between responsibility and awareness through volunteerism.”
