Director of Communications Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Altun, regarded the arrest of the slain leader of the terrorist organization DAESH Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's sister Rasmiye Awad as, “another example of the success of Turkey's counter-terrorism operation.”
In the statement he shared from his Twitter account, Altun stated that, Turkey's fight against terror regardless of its ideology or origin continues unabated.
Altun stating that, “The arrest of al-Baghdadi's sister is yet another example of the success of our counter-terrorism operations. Our determination to bring justice to those who seek to terrorize our people and destabilize our region cannot be questioned”, pointed out that much dark propaganda against Turkey has been circulating to raise doubts about Turkey’s resolve against DAESH.
Noting that Turkey has been leading in the fight against terrorism in all its forms, Altun underlined that Turkey’s strong counter-terrorism cooperation with like-minded partners can never be questioned.
Altun also said that certain circles in Washington are working hard to make the US-Turkey partnership unworkable.
Altun added that he hoped a cool-headed approach that understands the true value of alliances will prevail in the end and emphasized that the decision for the November visit ultimately lies with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Altun underlining that the two presidents will meet whenever they see fit, stated that, “The communication between them has been very candid. They will continue to discuss issues of mutual interest with the same level of openness in the future as they deem appropriate.”
