Statement regarding the claim that the sale of F-16s was contingent

The claim in some media outlets that the sale of F-16s to Türkiye has been made contingent is not true.

The approval process in the United States Congress for the procurement of 40 new F-16 Block-70s and the upgrading of 79 current F-16s to meet the demands of the Air Force Command began on January 26. The approval process also involves requests for ammunition, supplies, and equipment for the relevant aircraft. Once the letters of offer and acceptance are received, activities will start according to the schedule. The procurement and upgrading of F-16s are not subject to any conditions, contrary to what some Greek news websites have claimed.
