On October 9, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant announced a comprehensive blockade of the Gaza Strip.
Gallant said in his statement, "I ordered a total siege of Gaza. No electricity, no food, no water, no gas. We have closed everything down."
On October 11, Israel's Energy Minister, Israel Katz, stated explicitly on his social media account that "Israel had cut off electricity, water, and fuel to Gaza."
