Statement regarding President Erdoğan’s meeting with Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in Qatar for the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation-Arab League Extraordinary Summit, met with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar.

The meeting addressed Türkiye-Qatar bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues.

Describing Israel’s attack against Qatar as unacceptable, President Erdoğan expressed that Türkiye has always stood with Qatar.

Pointing out that Israel, through its attack, sought to sabotage the peace talks, President Erdoğan emphasised that the continuation of the negotiations under all circumstances would be beneficial and stated that Türkiye would maintain its support for mediation efforts.

The President emphasised that Türkiye-Qatar relations would be further enhanced in every field, particularly in the defence industry and security.

At the meeting, President Erdoğan also extended his condolences to those martyred in the Israeli attack and wished a swift recovery to the injured.

The President was accompanied during the meeting by Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan and Director of the National Intelligence Organisation İbrahim Kalın.
