Statement regarding President Erdoğan’s meeting with Prime Minister Mikati of Lebanon

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in New York for the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, met with Prime Minister Najib Mikati of Lebanon at the Turkish House.

The meeting addressed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Lebanon, Israel's attacks on Lebanon and Palestine as well as regional and global issues.

Stating that Türkiye stands by Lebanon, which is being targeted by Israel, President Erdoğan noted that the international community must urgently implement a solution that will stop Israeli aggression.

Pointing out that Israel disregards fundamental human rights and commits genocide in front of the world, President Erdoğan stated that stopping this and ending the humanitarian crisis that has resulted from the attacks is a humanitarian duty.
