President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in New York for the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine at the Turkish House.
The meeting addressed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Ukraine, the course of the Ukraine-Russia war, peace efforts as well as regional and global issues.
Stating that Türkiye has believed from the beginning that the Ukraine-Russia war can be ended through dialogue while preserving Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, President Erdoğan remarked that it continues its efforts to achieve this goal.
Noting that Türkiye is ready to take all kinds of facilitating steps, including mediation, for a just and lasting peace, President Erdoğan added that efforts will continue to revive the Black Sea Grain Initiative and ensure a ceasefire that can open the door to peace between Ukraine and Russia.
