President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, who are in Türkiye for the Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul.
The meeting addressed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Pakistan, as well as regional and global issues.
Expressing his satisfaction with the momentum brought to bilateral relations by the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Türkiye and Pakistan, President Erdoğan said that efforts are ongoing to implement the decisions taken.
Stating that the risks stemming from Israel’s attacks on Iran are significant enough to affect both Türkiye and Pakistan as Iran’s neighbors, President Erdoğan emphasized that reviving diplomatic negotiations between the United States and Iran is seen as the only way to resolve the nuclear dispute.
President Erdoğan also added that Türkiye will continue to work to restore calm and seek a diplomatic resolution.
