President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who is in Türkiye for the Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul.
The meeting addressed the clashes between Israel and Iran, as well as regional and global issues.
Stating that Türkiye has maintained a resolute stance against Israel’s attacks on Iran, just as it has in the cases of Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, President Erdoğan reaffirmed that various diplomatic efforts have been undertaken to end the clashes and return to dialogue.
President Erdoğan expressed that the region cannot endure another war, that Israel must be stopped immediately, and that the path to resolving the nuclear dispute lies in negotiation.
Noting that Türkiye is ready to do its part, including facilitating dialogue, President Erdoğan emphasized the need for immediate steps to start diplomacy through technical and high-level talks between Iran and the U.S., and reaffirmed that Türkiye will continue to support this process.
