Statement regarding President Erdoğan’s meeting with Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX

Musk stated that they wish to work with Turkish authorities to obtain the necessary licence to offer Starlink satellite services in Türkiye.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was in New York to attend the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), invited Musk to invest in Türkiye for Tesla's second factory in Europe during a meeting at the Turkevi (Turkish House). Musk noted that numerous Turkish supplier firms are currently collaborating with Tesla and that Türkiye is one of the leading candidates for the next factory.

In response to President Erdoğan's statement that they are open to cooperation on Starlink and artificial intelligence, Musk expressed their wish to work with Turkish authorities to obtain the necessary licence to offer Starlink satellite services in Türkiye.

Upon President Erdoğan's invitation to attend TEKNOFEST, which will be held in Izmir on September 27–October 1, Musk stated that he would be very pleased.

During the meeting, President Erdoğan indicated that Türkiye is one of the leading producers of high technology, citing the success of unmanned aerial vehicles as an example.

Elon Musk responded that he believes future wars will be fought between advanced UCAVs and that they are aware of the international interest in Bayraktar UAVs.
