President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in New York for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, met with Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah of Kuwait at the Turkish House.
The meeting addressed Türkiye-Kuwait bilateral relations and regional issues.
During the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that the two countries are working to enhance cooperation in many areas, particularly trade and energy.
President Erdoğan reiterated that Türkiye stands by brotherly countries such as Kuwait during this challenging, conflict-ridden period in our region. Further noting that Israel’s aggression in our region must be halted, President Erdoğan highlighted the importance of supporting international efforts to this end.
President Erdoğan also invited the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to the COP31 Leaders’ Summit to be held in Türkiye.
President Erdoğan was accompanied at the meeting by Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, MHP Deputy Chairman İsmail Özdemir, Presidency’s Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran, Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç, and Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Security and Foreign Policies Council, Ambassador Çağrı Erhan.
