Statement on President Erdoğan’s Address at UN General Assembly

In line with the procedures of the High-Level International Conference for the “Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution”, held on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly, the speaking time was determined as 5 minutes for Heads of State and Government and 3 minutes for other speakers.

Accordingly, the address of our President, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was also limited to 5 minutes. Therefore, claims that our President was prevented from speaking or that his remarks were interrupted are unfounded.

President Erdoğan’s address exceeded the allocated time only because it was interrupted several times by applause; consequently, the microphone was automatically switched off at the end of the fifth minute in line with the technical arrangement. The President concluded his address shortly thereafter. Similarly, the microphone was switched off during the speech of the President of Indonesia under the same procedure.

As in every platform, Türkiye was represented at the highest level at the UN General Assembly. President Erdoğan’s addresses continue to shape the global agenda and resonate widely with the international community.
