Statement from Head of Communications Altun regarding President Erdoğan’s participation in the NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government

Presidency’s Head of Communications Fahrettin Altun announced via his social media account that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will attend the NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government, to be held in The Hague on June 24–25, 2025.

In his statement, Head of Communications Altun said:

“Our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will visit the Kingdom of the Netherlands on June 24–25, 2025, to attend the NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government to be held in The Hague.

During the Summit, strategic-level consultations will be held regarding threats and risks facing the Euro-Atlantic region. A new Defence Investment Pledge aimed at raising Allied defence expenditures to levels necessitated by the current security environment will constitute the main agenda item of the Summit. Furthermore, the Alliance’s deterrence and defence efforts in response to the core threats identified by NATO will be evaluated.

On the margins of the Summit, our President is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with several Heads of State and Government in attendance.”
