The Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, shared a post on his social media account regarding the visit of the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Tufan Erhürman, to Türkiye.
In his post, Head of Communications Duran noted:
"President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Tufan Erhürman, has travelled to our country on his first overseas visit.
Türkiye has always regarded the peace, security, and prosperity of the Turkish Cypriots as a national matter and has resolutely adopted the advocacy of the Cypriot cause as a state policy.
To us, Cyprus is a national cause forged by history, struggle, and a shared destiny.
The struggle for existence of the Turkish Cypriot people has found a deep place in Türkiye's heart, and this bond has only further strengthened over the years.
The support extended for peace, stability, and a fair solution on the Island under the leadership of our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, demonstrates the strength of the cordial bond between Türkiye and the TRNC on every occasion.
Today's talks have demonstrated a strong will for our shared goals as we carry our relations into the future.
Our brotherhood and solidarity with the Turkish Cypriot people will last forever, and our cooperation will continue to deepen in every field and on every platform.
As our President expressed today,
'We believe that the most realistic solution to the Cyprus issue lies in the coexistence of two states on the Island.'
We uphold our stance that a solution is possible whereby the two communities on the island can live side by side in peace, prosperity, and safety.
In our capacity as the motherland and guarantor, we will never leave the Turkish Cypriot people alone in their rightful struggle today and tomorrow, as we did in the past."
