Presidency's Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran made a statement on his NSosyal account regarding the phone call between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Nechirvan Barzani of the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government.
Head of Communications Duran stated the following in his post:
"President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Nechirvan Barzani of the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (IKRG).
The call addressed the trajectory of the conflict-ridden process in our region and the latest developments.
President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye stands with Iraq during this critical process.
Noting that Türkiye will continue its efforts against steps that could plunge the region into disaster for many years to come, President Erdoğan said that recent movements within terrorist organizations and certain affiliated groups are being closely monitored.
President Erdoğan also stated that Türkiye is working intensively to end the conflicts in the region and ensure a return to negotiations.
Both President Erdoğan and Nechirvan Barzani emphasized the importance of the "terror-free Türkiye" process."
