The Presidency's Directorate of Communications displayed 3D mapping displays and LED videos on the occasion of October 29 Republic Day at historical locations in Istanbul and Ankara under the theme "We are Growing with the Republic; we are Entering the Century of Türkiye."
According to a written statement from the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, the three-dimensional visuals featuring cutting-edge designs were presented to the audience today at 20:23 (08:23 p.m.), reflected on the walls of the historic Haydarpaşa Train Station and Galata Tower in Istanbul, the Presidential Symphony Orchestra building and the Museum of the Republic in Ankara.
Mapping displays under the theme "We are Growing with the Republic; we are Entering the Century of Türkiye" commenced with the words, "We were a two-headed eagle, and we spread our wings to the past. Like a plane tree, we rooted ourselves in three continents and seven regions. Our crescent was adorned with the star and painted with the blood of martyrs, becoming the flag of the Republic. We united and thrived together as the state and the nation. Now, we are on the verge of achieving this grand dream. We are the descendants of our forefathers; we are the sons of our fathers. Let the entire world know. The Turkish nation is the most heroic. Observe, the Century of Türkiye is approaching, and the Turkish crescent and star are blazing brighter."
Visualising the historical journey that began in Manzikert, the shows transported the audience back in time to the days of the National Struggle with the order of the Republic's founder, Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk: "Armies, your first target is the Mediterranean. Forward!" And Türkiye's history was recounted, highlighting how the country became scientifically enlightened and technologically advanced.
In the journey in time from the founding of the Republic to the Century of Türkiye, Türkiye's success stories, the projects it implemented in technology, science, infrastructure, health, education, and defence, were presented to citizens through visual shows during the events.
The show, which shed light on the Century of Türkiye with the teachings of Yasawi, Yunus, Haji Bektash Veli and Mevlana, drew attention to the helping hand the Republic of Türkiye extended to the oppressed with the words of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, "The world is bigger than five".
The show, which included scenes that made the citizens both emotional and proud, also referring to the goals of 2053 and 2073, concluded with the final lines, "One nation, one flag, one homeland, one state, we are rising up. Salute to those who wrote the epic of independence with their blood and life and founded the Republic. Salute to Ghazi Mustafa Kemal. Salute to our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who led us to the Century of Türkiye today. Salute to the new Century of Türkiye."
The shows, which attracted great interest from the citizens, were streamed live on the Directorate of Communications' social media accounts. Citizens immortalised the three-dimensional shows in front of historic places with the photographs and videos they captured.
Videos with the theme "Century of Türkiye" were also displayed throughout the day on LED cube displays installed by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications at Istanbul Airport and Beşiktaş Square in Istanbul, Kızılay Square in Ankara and Konak Square in Izmir. These videos were watched with interest in the squares, particularly by young people and children.
