Turkey has been fighting uninterruptedly against separatist terrorism since 1984 and has been targeted globally by the attacks of various terrorist organizations, with ASALA previously being in the first place.
There are few countries in the world like Turkey which suffered so much from terror attacks yet achieved success by effectively combating terrorist organizations.
In recent years, the humanitarian crisis in Syria has led to the emergence of another terrorist organization, PKK’s Syrian offshoot YPG, in addition to DEASH in our region.
While hosting 4 million refugees on its territory, Turkey has also been fighting against terrorist organizations DEASH and PKK-YPG that have targeted its borders.
With the Operation Euphrates Shield, Turkey neutralized more than 3000 DEASH terrorists and 600 YPG terrorists. With the Operation Olive Branch, Turkey neutralized 4500 YPG terrorists as well as substantially restring the movement of DEASH.
Thanks to the de-escalation zone that we established in Idlib with Russia, we prevented a huge humanitarian tragedy involving 3 million people while once again restricting the movement of terrorist organizations.
Operation Peace Spring has been launched in order to eliminate PKK-YPG terrorist organization in the region and enable the return of Syrian refugees in our country as well as preventing DEASH from finding ground to rise in Syria again.
Likewise, we are carrying out a comprehensive fight against the FETO terrorist organization, which is the perpetrator of July 15, one of the most heinous coup attempts witnessed in our country's history.
As is seen, every step taken by Turkey is intended to combat terrorist organizations and neutralize terrorists.
Moreover, alongside its border security, Turkey is also engaged in this fight for peace and the future of all its friendly countries, especially in the NATO alliance
However, although the “Country Reports on Terrorism 2018” issued by the US Department of State mentions the PKK terrorist organization, it does not mention PKK’s Syrian offshoot YPG and its political wing PYD, and similarly FETO, the perpetrator of the July 15 coup attempt.
This attitude, which we are sad to witness so often recently, is one of the most obvious examples of a double-standard approach to terrorist organizations.
After this report, the United States, a country carrying out activities around the world on the grounds of fighting terrorism, no longer has anything to say to anyone about terrorism.
We would like to remind you once again that those who get in the same bed with terrorist organizations will eventually get bitten by that venomous snake.
Turkey will continue to fight resolutely against all terrorist organizations especially PYD and FETO, as well as PKK and DEASH.
