“Projects aimed at exiling Palestinians from their own lands are unacceptable”

Speaking at an iftar dinner with Palestinians, President Erdoğan said: “We will not allow new plans, based on ‘divide and rule’ tactic, to be implemented in our region. None of the projects aimed at exiling Palestinians from their own lands and making them suffer a second Nakba is acceptable.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at an iftar dinner with Palestinians at the Presidential Complex.

Underscoring that the massacres Israel has carried out in Gaza for 471 days have been inscribed on the history of humanity as a stain of shame, President Erdoğan said that as a result of the attacks of the gang of genocide, over 61 thousand people, many of them children and women, have died a martyr’s death, over 200 press members have been massacred, and over 330 healthcare staff have been killed intentionally.

“WE HAVE DELIVERED NEARLY 100 HUNDRED TONS OF HUMANITARIAN AID TO GAZA”

Stating that the Turkish nation’s al-Quds watch, Palestine watch is still continuing, President Erdoğan noted that with this spirit, Türkiye has never left alone its Palestinian brothers and sisters in the face of the Zionist regime’s 471-day-long policy of occupation and genocide, and added: “We have mobilized all our means to stop the bloodshed since October 7, when the attacks first began. We have been the voice of the oppressed Palestinians on all the international platforms, where we are present, especially the United Nations. We have expressed the injustices. We have contributed to the recognition of Palestine by nine countries in addition to the countries who have already recognized it. We have decided to intervene in the genocide case opened against Israel at the International Court of Justice. We have delivered nearly 100 hundred tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza. We have renounced a trade volume of nearly 9.5 billion dollars by completely halting trade with Israel.”

President Erdoğan said they have ensured the continuation of the treatment of 1,369 Gazan patients and injured people in hospitals in Türkiye, and have evacuated 880 Turkish citizens from there, with providing nearly 2 thousand Palestinians with means of accommodation in many cities, Ankara and Istanbul in particular.

“WE WILL NOT LEAVE OUR PALESTINIAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS ALONE FROM NOW ON AS WELL”

Stressing that Türkiye supports Palestinian with numerous other relief activities led by Kızılay, AFAD and the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, President Erdoğan went on to say: “We will not leave Palestine or our Palestinian brothers and sisters alone from now on as well. We will boldly defend the Palestinian’s struggle for independence under any condition. We welcome Islamic countries’ recent will to embrace the Palestine cause and to defend the rights of Palestinians. We consider the plan created at the emergency Gaza summit gathered in Cairo for the future of Gaza to be very valuable. We wish for the continuation of the memorandum of understanding reached on January 19. However, the Netanyahu government’s attempts to undermine the ceasefire has been increasingly continuing since the very first day. We know well what the current government that has made the Zionist expansionism a state policy is seeking to do. We will not allow new plans, based on ‘divide and rule’ tactic, to be implemented in our region. Let me underline that none of the projects aimed at exiling Palestinians from their own lands and making them suffer a second Nakba is acceptable. The deed of Palestine is in the hands of our Palestinian brothers and sisters.”

“Palestine will continue to exist as has been the case for centuries,” President Erdoğan noted: “All had better accept this fact that the two-state solution is the only way that will bring peace to all the peoples in the region. It is impossible to talk about a just and permanent solution unless an independent, sovereign and territorially-integral State of Palestine, based on the 1967 borders, with East al-Quds as its capital, is established. We call on all members of the international community, Islamic countries in particular, to assume active responsibility for the reconstruction of Gaza.”

“WE WANT PEACE AND PROSPERITY IN THE ENTIRE REGION”

“We want peace, calm and prosperity in not only Gaza or the West Bank, but also in the entire region. We dream of a region where different faiths, sects and ethnic elements live side by side. And we work for it with all our strength. We attach great importance to our neighbor Syria’s territorial integrity, the preservation of its unitary structure and the consolidation of its unity and well-being,” President Erdoğan added.

President Erdoğan continued as follows: “We consider any effort aimed at clearing Syria of terror to be a step taken towards right direction. The complete implementation of the agreement reached yesterday will serve Syria’s security and tranquility. The winner of this will be all our Syrian brothers and sisters. We will foil the games and secure our future to an extent that we exalt our brotherhood as Arabs, Turks and Kurds. Let us all remember that we have no other option but to hold each other’s hands, to firmly close the ranks, and to respect the sensitivities of one another.”
