Prof. Altun: “I express my condolences to the Egyptian people and the Islamic world”

Presidency’s Director of Communications Prof. Fahrettin Altun offered his condolences over the demise of Egypt's first democratically-elected President Mohammed Morsi in the court room.

On his Twitter account, Prof. Altun made the following remarks:

"Egypt’s first democratically-elected President Mohammed Morsi, who was overthrown with a bloody coup in front of the whole world, passed away. May he rest in peace. I would like to express my condolences to the Egyptian people and the Islamic world. Mohammed Morsi will be remembered as a courageous man of the cause, politician for holding his head high against the persecution and for not giving up exclaiming rights and justice until his last breath. Those who extend support for the putschists in Egypt still prefer to remain blind and deaf to unlawful trials and anti-democratic practices. History will not forget those who support coup plotters instead of democracy for their own sake."
