The Press Card Regulation specifies the nature, type and form of the press cards, the requirements for media organizations and individuals to obtain a press card, their titles and quotas, the documents to be requested in the application, and the circumstances under which the press cards will be canceled and/or returned, as well as the working procedures and decision-making principles of the Press Card Commission.

As stated in the Regulation, press cards are an official form of identity issued by the Directorate of Communications and recognized by all public and private entities, and the card types are "Service press card", "Periodical press card", "Temporary press card", "Freelancer press card" and "Permanent press card".

The Regulation noted that the press card is valid for a period of 10 years and that criminal charges will be filed at the Offices of the Chief Public Prosecutor against anyone who issue a card that is similar in type, layout, form and color to the press card issued by the Directorate of Communications.

The Press Card Regulation of December 13, 2018 was repealed with this Regulation.
