The Presidential High Advisory Board convened under the chairmanship of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex today. Members of the Board met at the Presidential Complex, where they discussed the propaganda directed against Türkiye abroad, particularly in Europe, and the measures to be taken against it.
Presidency’s Director of Communications Altun issued a written statement about the two-hour meeting.
Accordingly, the members of the Board evaluated the activities of foreign foundations and similar organisations in Türkiye as well as the propaganda carried out against Türkiye abroad, particularly in Europe, and the measures to be taken against them.
Noting that as Türkiye advances on the path of democracy and development and takes independent steps, Europe’s level of hostility towards our country rises, the members of the Board highlighted issues such as the European Union membership process, asylum seekers, the fight against terrorism, and Europe’s inconsistent, unjust, unfair and hypocritical attitude against Türkiye.
Members of the Board exchanged views on the measures to be taken against slander campaigns about our country and nation, which are expected to intensify not only within our borders but also abroad, expressing concern that disinformation originating from social media and provocations aimed at harming our national unity may increase as Türkiye enters the upcoming election process.
Our President stated at the meeting that Europe's political and social aversion to our country has deep historical roots, and that Europe manifests its ethnic and religious fanaticism by hiding behind concepts like democracy, human rights, and freedoms.
In this sense, our President stated that the principles imposed on the entire world as “Western civilization values” are repeatedly trampled upon by these countries when their own security and welfare order is threatened, adding, “Those who have introduced many fascist practises on rights and freedoms under the guise of the rule of law are behaving disgracefully towards us. We understand the intent behind those who refuse even the most humane demands of our citizens in Europe to have everything their own way in our country. Their rage is directed at us because they were unable to repeat the game they played in other placed, in which they disrupted social and territorial integrity and brought down the state system.”
Members of the Board İsmail Kahraman, Köksal Toptan, Mehmet Ali Şahin and Presidency’s Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun, Director of Administrative Affairs of the Presidency Metin Kıratlı, Head of National Intelligence Organization Hakan Fidan and Chief of Cabinet to the President Hasan Doğan attended the meeting.
Head of National Intelligence Organization Hakan Fidan also made a presentation at the meeting.
