Presidential High Advisory Board convened under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The closed-door meeting at the Presidential Complex was attended by Board members İsmail Kahraman, Bülent Arınç, Cemil Çiçek, Köksal Toptan, Mehmet Ali Şahin, Yıldırım Akbulut, Director of Administrative Affairs of the Presidency Metin Kıratlı and Chief of Cabinet of the Presidency and Ambassador Hasan Doğan.
During the Presidential High Advisory Board meeting chaired by President Erdoğan, the policies to be developed for encouraging reverse brain drain and attracting Turkish scientists as well as other international scientific circles to Turkey were discussed.
Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun said in his statement that the required steps to be taken to encourage reverse brain drain were discussed during the meeting chaired by President Erdoğan.
Noting that President Erdoğan stressed that Turkey should be a pioneer in all areas as well as scientific and technological studies in order to continue its progress, Altun stated that the meeting also dealt with the contributions to be made to local and national technology moves by keeping the trained people in Turkey as well as encouraging those who went abroad to return to Turkey. He also mentioned that the policies to be developed for encouraging reverse brain drain and attracting Turkish scientists as well as other international scientific circles to Turkey were discussed.
Altun also pointed out that the “Council of Europe Convention On Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence”, which is also known as “Istanbul Convention”, was discussed in all aspects during the Presidential High Advisory Board Meeting, and stated the following:
“During the meeting, our President has stated that he regards the violence against women, which is a problem of the whole world, as ‘a crime against humanity’. During the meeting, suggestions have been made regarding the steps to be taken to solve all the problems of women, especially violence, in addition to the actions taken so far, and emphasis has been put on the efforts to create a climate where women are seen as a guarantee of family and social balance.”
