President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan welcomed with an official ceremony Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who is in Turkey for the 6th meeting of the Turkey-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee.
The cavalry, who welcomed the vehicle of Emir Sheikh Tamim of Qatar on the street in front of the Presidential Complex, accompanied him to the entrance gate.
After President Erdoğan and Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim took their places in the ceremonial ground, the national anthems of the two countries were played and 21-gun-salute was fired.
Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim saluted the Presidential Guard of Honour by saying “Merhaba asker”.
The ceremony also featured flags and soldiers representing 16 Turkish States established throughout history.
Following the introduction of respective delegations, President Erdoğan and Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim posed for journalists on the stairs in front of the flags of Turkey and Qatar.
One-on-one meeting and meeting between delegations
After the ceremony, President Erdoğan and Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim proceeded to one-on-one meeting, after which, they will also come together with the delegations.
When the negotiations are completed, the signing ceremony will be held between the two countries in various fields.
Also in attendance were Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of National Defence Hulusi Akar, Minister of Trade Ruhsar Pekcan, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, Presidency’s Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun, Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalın, Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin, and Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş.
