President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi of Iraq.
The call addressed Türkiye-Iraq relations and regional issues.
President Erdoğan voiced Türkiye's pleasure over the positive course of the relations in the fields of trade, military and intelligence, and said that the cooperation in the fight against terror must be enhanced as well.
Stressing that the PKK terrorist organization, besides its presence in Qandil, also maintained its existence in Makhmur and Sinjar, which were directly under the central government's control, President Erdoğan said, just like in the previous operations, solely the members of the organization were targeted during the last operation carried out in the area used by the PKK terrorist organization and its extensions, and that the target that was hit was not a hospital or healthcare center as the terrorist organization claimed but one of the organization's hide-outs.
Underscoring that as the PKK terrorist organization was cornered, it further held onto such lies, President Erdoğan noted that Turkey, with the high level it had reached in terms of military capabilities, displayed extreme sensitivity during those operations.
