President Erdoğan: "The unfortunate and malicious statements of some ignorant people targeting our capital markets will never change this reality."
The 6th Turkish Capital Markets Summit, organised by the Turkish Capital Markets Association (TSPB) in a hybrid format this year with the theme "Beyond Finance: Investing in the Future," commenced with the reading of a message from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
In his message, President Erdoğan welcomed the attendees from abroad, saying, "Welcome to our country and our lovely İstanbul," and wished the 6th Turkish Capital Markets Summit to be auspicious for the nation, the economy, and all investors.
Expressing his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the congress, President Erdoğan said, "We still maintain our will to make our İstanbul, the crossroads of civilisations, cultures and continents, one of the centres of global finance. We are taking firm steps towards this goal with our initiatives in economy, diplomacy, trade, tourism, transportation and many other areas. I believe the summit, which has become a brand in capital markets, will make a meaningful contribution to our efforts."
"Our country has been a rising star in recent years"
Emphasising that the global pandemic and the subsequent hot conflicts in the nearby geography have moved Türkiye to a different position, President Erdoğan said:
"Our country has been a rising star in recent years with its strong health infrastructure, production power, rapid recovery capability and many other advantages. The balanced and conciliatory policies we have successfully pursued since the first days of the Ukraine-Russia crisis further reinforced Türkiye's playmaker role. Foreign investors' growing interest in Türkiye, including in our capital markets, is a sign of faith in our diplomacy and economy. The unfortunate and malicious statements of some ignorant people targeting our capital markets will never change this reality. Türkiye will continue to add new success stories in every field with a vision that will mark the 21st century."
Expressing his belief that the capital markets will be positively affected by this dynamism in the Turkish economy and continue its growth journey, President Erdoğan said: "I would like to reiterate that our doors and hearts are open to all investors who trust in Türkiye, invest in our country, and have faith in the bright future of the Turkish economy."
