President Erdoğan’s post for citizens living abroad

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan conveyed some glad tidings in his social media post for citizens living abroad.

"The previous ruling powers ignored you for years, remembered you only when they needed foreign currency. We, on the other hand, have been with you in all your difficulties, settled many of your problems and delivered your rights," President Erdoğan said, and also mentioned the practices they will realise from now on.

Noting that they will develop special housing projects for Turkish citizens living abroad through the Turkish Housing Development Administration (TOKİ), President Erdoğan stated that they will increase the number of family attaché offices and mobile consular services.

Stating that they will ensure the employment of skilled minds educated abroad in Türkiye, President Erdoğan said:

"We will prioritise your representation in the parliament and ensure that your demands are satisfied. We will grant the right to work full-time abroad to those who retire through foreign borrowing. We will extend the period of unregistered use of mobile devices in Türkiye to 180 days for you. For the re-entry of the vehicles you drive to Türkiye, we will shorten the requirement to stay abroad to 30 days. We will ensure that the national service of those doing military service abroad is recognised in Türkiye within the framework of bilateral agreements. We will bring 10 thousand young people living abroad to our country every year."

Emphasising that they will continue to uphold the citizens living abroad, whom they see as the representatives of Türkiye in the world, President Erdoğan shared the following message:

"We are one, we are strong, we are alive. Together with you, we are Türkiye. Inshallah, we will all work together to build the Century of Türkiye under the motto 'Strong Türkiye, Strong Diaspora'. Therefore, I expect you to rush to the ballot boxes and write an epic once again on May 14. With you persists Türkiye."
