President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a message on the occasion of the foundation anniversary of the Gendarmerie General Command.
Congratulating the Gendarmerie General Command, which is one of the most deeply-rooted institutions of the state and plays an essential role in ensuring the peace and welfare of the citizens, on its 181st anniversary, President Erdoğan noted the following:
"The Gendarmerie General Command, which serves heroically with the utmost sense of duty to maintain the unity of our nation and the future of our state, makes our nation proud with all missions it undertakes. The Gendarmerie General Command, which works devotedly day and night on multiple fronts from counter-terrorism to public order, and from tackling irregular migration to traffic safety, successfully fulfills its duties in collaboration with our citizens and gives no respite to crimes and criminals thanks to its modernization and reorganization efforts and its well-trained, well-disciplined, qualified personnel. With these thoughts, on the foundation anniversary of the Gendarmerie General Command, I commemorate our glorious martyrs with mercy and gratitude, and convey my greetings and regards to the successful members of the Gendarmerie General Command."
