President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a message on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the signing of the Lausanne Peace Treaty.
In his message, President Erdoğan said:
"Today marks the 101st anniversary of the Lausanne Peace Treaty, which we regard as the founding document of the Republic of Türkiye.
Thanks to the Lausanne Peace Treaty, the victory of our nation against the invaders occupying our homeland has been internationally recognised.
Türkiye, as a regional stabiliser, pursues its development journey with determination, as it has for the past 101 years.
At a time when a new crisis arises every day, and uncertainty about the future grows, our country remains focused on the Century of Türkiye goals.
Inshallah, no one will be able to prevent us from putting our nation's seal on the century we are in.
As a nation, we are marching towards a bright future in unity and solidarity, refusing to give up in the face of difficulties and attacks.
With these sentiments, on the 101st anniversary of the Lausanne Peace Treaty, I commemorate Ghazi Mustafa Kemal, the founder of our Republic, his comrades-in-arms and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of our independence with mercy, and wish our veterans a blessed and prosperous life."
